Our bungalows are the setting for a peculiar cohabitation between three predators, gathered around a refrigerator. If humans and dogs naturally seek the company of others, cats tend to be more solitary. As Ira Lewis so aptly illustrated: The dog thinks: they feed me, they protect me, they must be gods.
