Pedestrian Fatality on Sherbrooke Street.
A man in his 50s was fatally hit by a car on Sherbrooke Street, near Viau Street. Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating. This happened at the edge of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie and Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. It really brings up how important pedestrian safety is, especially when people cross outside crosswalks. The collision happened around 10 p.m.
Montreal Man Charged with Defamation Against Police.
A 25-year-old Montreal man, Mohamed Bekkali, got arrested and charged with three counts of criminal defamation. He'd filmed and posted misogynistic stuff about SPVM officers. "Shakespeare in the Park" Returns to Montreal Parks.
The "Shakespeare in the Park" series is back in the city's parks. This year, they're doing a modern take on *The Winter's Tale*. It's put on by Repercussion Theatre, Le CAM on Tour, and UnCanon Theatre. It's a great way to bring free, accessible culture to Montrealers in public spaces.
