Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets forth the terms under which J'adore Montréal uses and protects the information provided by its users. We are strongly committed to the security of your data and transparency. This policy may be updated over time, so we recommend reviewing this page continually.

Platforms, Account levels, and Data collection

Our platform operates through a website and mobile applications. Data collection depends strictly on the environment and the account level you choose to use:

  • Website (jadore-montreal.com): It is not possible to create accounts or access user profiles on our web portal; it is a purely informational site. The only technical information we process is your IP address for security reasons (such as Google reCAPTCHA validation) and for the proper functioning of integrated third-party services (YouTube videos and Facebook features). This technical collection is strictly subject to your preferences and consent in our cookie panel.
  • App - Guest User (No registration): We do not collect personal information. Optionally, the app may request your device's unique identifier solely to send you push notifications, which you can freely accept or decline.
  • App - Community User (Phase 1 - Free): To save favorite places or events and receive notifications, we require creating a basic account. We collect only your email address and your device identifier.
  • App - Extended Profile User: To enable social features (RSVP to events, comment, and view other users), we require additional information: date of birth, a brief personal description, a "guilty pleasure", and a single profile picture (which can be updated or changed by the user at any time). Uploading additional photographs or creating galleries is not permitted. This information will be public to other Extended Profile members within the app.

Visibility and promotional use of your activity

As an Extended Profile User, you understand that your single profile picture, your RSVPs, and your texts (comments and descriptions) are visible within the community. Furthermore, J'adore Montréal reserves the right to show excerpts of your public comments anonymously or pseudonymized to lower-level users (Phase 1) to promote the app's social features.

Content Moderation and Limitation of Legal Liability

To maintain a safe environment and comply with child protection regulations, J'adore Montréal strictly prohibits the use of profanity, harassment, violence, nudity, or explicit material in the only spaces for user-generated content: your profile picture and your comments/descriptions.

  • External Automated Filters: We use third-party artificial intelligence technology (Microsoft) to analyze, verify, and automatically filter comment texts and every profile picture (including every time the user decides to change it).
  • Disclaimer of Legal Liability: Although we apply this advanced technology, automated systems are not infallible. J'adore Montréal acts exclusively as a technical service provider and assumes no civil, criminal, or legal liability for the content (profile picture or comments) generated and published by users that manages to evade our filters. The user assumes full and absolute responsibility for the image placed on their profile and the words they publish.
  • Disciplinary Actions: We reserve the irrevocable right to remove any profile picture or comment we deem inappropriate without prior notice, as well as to suspend or permanently delete offending accounts.

Control and Deletion of your data (Quebec Law 25)

In compliance with Quebec Law 25 regarding the protection of personal data, you have complete control over your information. If you wish to exercise your right and request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data, you must send an email with your request to: [email protected]. We will proceed to permanently erase your records from our servers.
