Louis Hayes, NEA Jazz Master, is a legendary drummer who has dominated the jazz scene for over five decades. In the 1950s and 1960s, Hayes was the rising star of the iconic groups of Horace Silver, Cannonball Adderley, and Oscar Peterson. Throughout his long career, he has worked and recorded alongside other jazz legends, including Horace Silver, Oscar Peterson, Cannonball Adderley, Grant Green, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Wes Montgomery, and John Coltrane.
