To avenge her daughter sacrificed in the name of victory against the Trojans, Queen Clytemnestra orchestrates the murder of her husband Agamemnon. Under the horrified gaze of the Greek citizens who had barely had time to taste peace, Prince Orestes, guided by his sister Electra, in turn commits the irreparable act and becomes guilty of matricide.
