Conductor Naomi Woo and cellist Maximilian Hornung enchant us with some of the most captivating pages of symphonic music. The violins stir like the wind blowing on a bad night, the brass pierce the orchestra like lightning crossing the sky, the cellos and double basses tremble, sowing panic… Some works create in a few measures an atmosphere conducive to this time of year when fear and death are celebrated.
