About the artist: La Gaïta is a type of music from MARACAIBO in the state of ZULIA, in western VENEZUELA. Although it's very regional, it's the music par excellence of festive times and the most listened to throughout the country from October to January 7th. It's an exciting and very contagious rhythm thanks to the mix of percussion, strings, piano, and more. To learn more about this rhythm, check out REPICAO, a group founded in Montreal twelve years ago.
