In the shadow, fleeting, subversive, and playful stories emerge. For Lap-See Lam, the spectral dimension of shadow theatre becomes a visual language and a poetic meditation. Born from rich Chinese folklore, this art form, based on the interaction between light and shadow, would date back over 2000 years, to the Han dynasty era. It then spread to the West through imperial trade routes in the 17th century.
