The Moldau, a work by Smetana inspired by the imposing river that flows through Bohemia, paves the way for the pride followed by his successor Dvořák, whose writing is sprinkled with accents of the region's folk music. We will hear his Violin Concerto performed by Ukrainian violinist Valeriy Sokolov and The Golden Spinning Wheel, based on a Czech legend. Justice triumphs in this story when a young woman cruelly murdered comes back to life and fulfills her destiny.
