Destiny knocks at the door in this high-caliber concert where the Quebec Philharmonic Orchestra tackles true roller coasters: pianist Olga Kern, Gold Medalist of the prestigious Van Cliburn Competition, takes on the dizzying Variations on a Theme by Paganini by Rachmaninoff, a peak of late romanticism dating back to 1934. Alexandre Da Costa leads the Orchestra in another monumental piece of the repertoire, Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony, known as the Symphony of Fate by its composer.
