Native New Yorker Des Bishop moved from Queens to Ireland and rose to prominence with his television series \\"Des Bishop's Work Experience,\\" where he lived on a minimum wage in a series of different jobs. Mixing this documentary series with stand-up comedy, the show became one of the hits of the year and propelled Des to national fame.
